ENVIRONMENTAL
Land, water, air and energy are the primary resources that we use to satisfy our most basic needs of food, water, air and shelter. It is easier for more people to satisfy their needs when we work together using these limited resources. The better condition these basic resources are in, the better we can satisfy our basic needs for generations to come.
How do we improve the conditions of these basic resources?
SOCIAL
Groups of individuals are the main elements of a social structure. Though many groups have varying beliefs and values, we are all trying to satisfy the same basic needs. Working together will bring quicker and better solutions, since our goals are nearly the same.
How do we foster the best social structure to Sustain Hawaii?
ECONOMIC
Money is the most basic product of an economy. It's used as a medium of exchange for many things we need. The cost of those things, as well as what can be earned for making or selling them, is influenced by the supply and demand of the needed resources. The better we handle vital, limited resources, the longer we can enjoy comfortable, secure lives.
How do we create the best economic structure to Sustain Hawaii?
To create the best environmental, social and economic structures, we must identify short-, intermediate- and long-term goals from each of the five playersʻ perspectives - government, education, business, non-profit and the community.
Once the goals are made, it's time for action.
